Rare BBC Transcription Services Disc – Top Of The Pops 284.

Featuring two songs by John and Beverley. The Road To Ruin (from the album of the same name) and Traffic Light Lady from Stormbringer! Both songs recorded at the BBC Studios, London on 23 March 1970 and broadcast on BBC Radio programme Top Gear 4 April 1970.

BBC Transcription Services discs were only made available to overseas radio stations for broadcast purposes and were not made available for sale to the general public. Typically only 100 copies of each disc were produced with instructions to the overseas radio network to destroy the disc at the end of the licence period. The original BBC Transcription Services labels were green and white, and the record was accompanied by programme / cue sheets.
